Bride Ghana (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it when you use brideghana.com.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you give us directly:
- Account registration: name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash)
- Vendor registration: business name, category, location, phone number, website, and business description
- Inquiries: name, email, phone number, wedding date, and message sent to a vendor
- Reviews: star rating and written comment submitted for a vendor
We also collect basic technical data automatically, such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, to keep the platform secure and to understand how it is used.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To connect couples with wedding vendors by forwarding inquiries
- To process vendor applications and display their business profiles
- To send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, inquiry notifications)
- To display reviews publicly on vendor profiles
- To detect fraud, abuse, and security threats
- To improve the platform and fix technical issues
We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.
3. Sharing of Information
We share your information only in these limited situations:
- With vendors: when you send an inquiry, the vendor receives your name, email, phone number, wedding date, and message
- Publicly: reviews you submit (name and comment) are shown on vendor profiles
- Service providers: we use Resend to deliver transactional emails and Turso to store data securely
- Legal: if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users
4. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords (bcrypt), and secure session tokens. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your personal information.
5. Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile, reviews, and personal details are permanently removed. Inquiry records are anonymised (your user link is removed) rather than deleted, so vendors retain a record of communication for their own records.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information via your account settings
- Delete your account at any time from your account settings page
- Object to how we process your data by contacting us

7. Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. Disabling cookies will prevent you from staying logged in to your account.
8. Children's Privacy
Bride Ghana is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have done so, please contact us immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Bride Ghana after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
